Application Fields of Aspheric Lenses

The use of aspheric optical devices is mainly due to their advantages over spherical optical devices. The biggest advantage is the correction of aberrations and the related better imaging characteristics.
For example, telescopes are almost always aspherical, especially those with larger diameters. Aspherical lenses are also used for zoom lenses. Compared to applications using spherical lenses, these not only reduce system size but also improve image quality.

Aspheric lenses can be used to observe both stars and space. An aspheric optical element included in its spectrometer. In order to be used in space, optical devices must not only have excellent optical performance, but also withstand extreme environmental conditions.

Another application area is laser beam forming, such as the distribution of top caps in production. For example, in a beam shaping system with two aspherical lenses for generating hat distribution, the first lens redistributes the incident laser beam (Gaussian distribution) in such a way that a uniform intensity distribution occurs at a certain distance. Then align the beam with the second beam - creating a typical top hat distribution. Such aspherical applications, such as in material processing (such as cutting metal), are of interest in medicine (such as ophthalmology). For the market or for new applications, the aspherical range of lenses is from instruments. Using them can greatly reduce the total number of lenses used in the lens and increase the possible measurement range. Another advantage: reducing lens usage also makes the lens much lighter.
